UnKAOS did what it was meant to do.

Give me structure, routine and self discipline

help me not feel bad when I don’t have everything done, it taught me to be ok with a mess or a job that needs doing because i know I have already allotted time to it, iow, I’m already on it . It trained me to stop being so random, to just keep my mind on the tasks and no others. No mission creep.

and now when i cbf i have the self discipline to do the jobs, i do them because it’s the time to do them. Even tho I have no boss I do them. One foot in front of the other.

Imma use those skills now for the things that I really want to do, reading, art work, study, writing . And some life goals

baby steps. Taking back agency after being subjected to chaos

so we may finally be getting a handle on Cerys’ blood sugar and now Sammy’s decided to start walking around like an old man with a foot up his bum so now we’re back to the vet again this arvo, probably to find out the silly bastard broke his anus or something falling off the curtains he knows he’s not allowed to be climbing.

Little miss “oh noes I live in plenty” disease and master “I’m an idiot teenager with a Hapsburg jaw” and meanwhile the cat with ACTUAL problems, Max, the one whose entire back end has been horribly twisted and broken and healed wrong just bites everyone’s feet and insists you shove him across the floor with a broomhandle

It was needed if I wanted to enable an AI feature. Times are changing fast.

A coworker bought in a 10 week old golden retriever and I got to spend 10 minutes parading it around the office. Puppy cuddles make any day so so so much better!!

ok, I’ll look into creatine too 👍

kedgeree sounds good too, ( never had it, I should try it )

            Creatine can upset some tummies.

Kedgeree is amazingly simple. It’s basically fried rice. In this case I’m gonna make it with cauliflower rice.

Bloody delicious stuff. I recommend doing the classic thing of poaching the fish in milk, then using the milk as the liquid to cook the rice. I also don’t bother with hard boiled eggs when putting a poached egg on top of a bowl of kedgeree is soooo much better. Also, the better the curry powder/paste you use, the better the whole thing tastes. Imo it’s more a dryish risotto than fried rice but you do you.

Oh it works now, but that charger you got is iffy at best and you’ve got probs another hour’s worth of battery before it stops working and you have to go buy a new one.

ahahah a couple years ago a mate’s workplace was decomissoning a site. They said “Take what you want, we’ll ewaste what’s left after this weekend” All the millenial coworkers grabbed maybe a chair, maybe a monitor or two.

Me and said mate (a fellow genXer) rented a truck. And we cleared that fucking joint out, including “broken” laptops and entire comms racks.

Start playing with home automation. HAOS is free and Ikea have cheap matter devices

(I built a custom rack, it has two pizza boxes - one testbed, one ‘production’, both running proxmox. Production one has our automation, a virtual xp box for legacy drivers and an alpine middleman for the symlinks. Under that is a dedicated win7 box offline and kvm’d because fuck 10 onwards, the UPS, webserver and de switches. Fikeserver lives off yo one side because that was a fuckoff massive kitbash i did years ago on an old proliant 1500 scsi chassis)

We caught it so early it hadn’t even manifested symptoms yet (showed up in pre-dental blood check) so we’ve got an extremely good shot at getting her in remission.

Night before she was in a normal bgm range and our instructions were that if she was below 12mmol come her timed 6am shot then no insulin, test in an hour, repeat. She bipped riight before the “three hour fuckit we bail this shot” mark.

Last night she was green from 2 until 8, small hypo at 3 so she got a churu, still below 12 right now.

How big are chicken crimpys? I just saw they have finally done a GF version but they are tiny? Like roughly the same as a BBQ shape?

I remember them being much bigger but maybe that’s because I haven’t had them for so long? Are Arnott’s shafting the coeliacs of the world here?

    (They taste great tho)

It’s all the flavours. I used to love the sprinkles at the bottom. The generous seasoning was what made them so addictively tasty. They are a ghost of what they used to be. The bastards ruined it.

I haven’t had them in years. I remember they changed to where the tomato salt was oddly much sweeter and there might have been a time they didn’t have a lot of topping. The remaining seasoning was the best part.

Anyway if I was still able to eat this sort of thing I’d definitely give the Aldi versions a try.

I’m still peeved about the BBQ shapes. They did the “new improved flavour!” thing and everyone complained vigorously, so they made a public thing about changing it back. Then down the track when the fuss had died down they quietly did it anyway and stealthily turned them to shit. They were a special snack that 3 generations of my family enjoyed before they stuffed them up. I’ve never bought them again, cheap arse bastards tinkering with classics can get bent.

Notice you don’t see the ad anymore “flavour you can see” that’s because you can’t see it anymore. You can’t even taste it anymore. Arseholes.

I’ve boycotted everything Arnott’s except the Monte Carlos. I’m lazy and shit at baking otherwise I’d make them myself.
