    Watching the tributes to Dolly. Lots I did’t know. Not only was she a talented superstar that immediately lit up a room, but her philanthropy was extensive. What an amazing human. She will be missed.

    So has anyone here ever had a good buying experience with Harvey Norman? Normally I just laugh at their window display of overly priced Smeg kettles and toasters. I once went inside looking for a fridge, and could not find any of their 30 or so fridges that were on the Choice recommended list. Recently they have been busted for their five year interest free scam.

      I don’t care where I buy from. I don’t think any of them are better than the others. I’ll either already know what I want to buy, or I’ll go to wherever is closest if I want to physically browse. Then look up prices online and buy from where ever has the best deal.

      Yeah, I’ve got a few things from there. I shop online and they have had the cheapest price a few times. They were really good sorting out a problem with my vacuum recently, which was great because LG were absolutely awful dealing with directly.

    For the past three days I’ve been getting a call from a number that has not been leaving VMs. I cracked it today and picked it up - and it was a fucking real estate agent I told IN WRITING in June to stop fucking calling me. Like, I went to the district manager and told them in no uncertain fucking terms to delete my fucking number or explicitly mark me as do not call in their systems if required to retain for data purposes

    ACMA complaint filed, who else can I send right up their fucking arse?

      I love Jeff Buckley, but all my favourite songs of his are on Sketches For My Sweetheart The Drunk. Such a shame he died after only one album, I wonder how he would have shaped the music world had he lived (kind of feel the same about Elliott Smith tbh)

        I’m ashamed to admit it but I haven’t listened to that album. I don’t even know why. Grace was just perfect.

        Will suss it out tonight.

        Agreed about Elliot Smith. I have soft spot for him.

        My fave songs on Grace are Mojo Pin and lover you should have come over. The Cohen cover is fucking amazing, I just listened to it so much and burned it out lol

          I don’t know if you’ve heard of Myles Kennedy but Jeff Buckley’s guitar was loaned to him for this performance, and it was the first time it had been played since his death. I love Myles and it’s one of those performances where I wish I could’ve been there.

              He does a lot of hard rock heavy metal stuff in the band Alter Bridge, but he’s also known for being the vocalist who tours and records with Slash. He was a guitar teacher when he was younger and his solo albums are chefs kiss to me. He’s also known for being Thor in that movie with Mark Wahlberg (rock star I think🤣)

                  The drummer, bass player and guitarist are all from creed iirc, Myles Kennedy is the only one who wasn’t.

          Ooooo get on it lol my friend in HS burnt me a copy of Sketches and Grace, and I’ve loved them ever since. Sketches is so goooood!!

          XO is my fav Elliott Smith album, Waltz #2 is perfect and still gets stuck in my head, but all his songs on there are great it’s hard to name one from that album that’s my fav.

            I’ve stayed away from Elliot Smith the last couple of years, but it might be time to have another listen.

            You know, Grace changed the entire course of my music life. In high school I was a full on metal head that only listened to metal. Then a friend of mine asked me to listen to it. I saw the cover and was like “the fuck is soft cock shit”.

            So fucking glad I actually gave it a listen lol

    I took today off instead of Friday and among other things I made Curtis Stone’s mandarin cake. However, it came out a LOT bigger than I expected. So I put my glasses on and re-read the recipie and it says 12 serves not 2 … Not sure if this is a felix culpa or not. Will take about half in to the office tomozz for general consumption.

    Note to self: the syrup from the candied mandarins is worth making just for that - sooooo yum.

      Yeah I have that issue lol, except I’m a hoarder so it’s all the clothes I bought when I was like 100kg. Now I use them a spare cloth for sewing projects.

      It’s funny, there’s some pieces of clothes I got as presents over the years, that didn’t fit me at the time due to being too small. Now I can wear them and they’re a bit baggy.

      We ought to be very proud of ourselves for achieving this tbh
