I figured that when the Epstein Files came out, there would be so many other names in there, that Trump wouldn’t really stand out that much.
Turns out, I was wrong. He was way more involved than everybody else, COMBINED.
I should know better by now. Every time we think that something he’s accused of is too horrific, even for him, it turns out that he was far more into it than we ever thought.
Epstein himself said that Trump was “evil beyond belief,” and “I have met some very bad people, none as bad as trump. not one decent cell in his body… so yes – dangerous”
I’m old enough to recall Bush political cartoons, he was constantly a monkey clown for our amusement. I’m fine with any President being portrayed as a monkey, personally.
But this struck me immediately as deeply racist. I think it’s because of the attack on the former first lady? It’s a visceral reaction.

About 4 or 5 years ago, I was at a relative’s house – The relative was one of those people that basically watch Fox News 24/7. So, unfortunately I was exposed to the literal propaganda that is Fox News. Calling it propaganda is literally and understatement.
Anyway, at one point during the 5 o’clock “news”, they aired a segment that featured Democrats in congress. They played the audio feed from whatever hearing or whatever was going on, but the video feed was a bunch of chimpanzees in a zoo setting.
So, what happened today is nothing new. This is who conservative Republicans in the USA are and have always been.
More importantly, reach out to people in your life, and especially people of color. What happened today is absolutely disgusting, and a lot of people are/were already struggling with things. A bit of kindness, connection with others goes a long way. Community and connections are especially critical in these times, and checking in with your friends, family, and neighbors is basically the least you can do, but also one of the most impactful things you can do right now.
You’re not wrong, and playing a video feed of chimpanzees while Democrat representatives are speaking is dumb, but I imagine it was a mix of colors and genders. Putting the former PoC president and his wife’s faces on fucking apes is another level. It’s a very old, very specific, and very intentional act of racism…

I was gonna say that things falling on floors happens indoors while rain is traditionally outdoors, but I imagine the terminal velocity of adult males plummeting from the sky would cause them to end their flights on a fair few floors anyway.
