121·5 days agoI don’t understand why people with power or a platform don’t just literally make fun of him more with playground insults. Like dumdum donny or stupid brain hairpiece or something. He’s so thin skinned he’d spend all his time responding to insults rather than fuck up the country more.

If people still know about the British half penny (pronounced haypenny) it’s because it’s mentioned in that xmas carol. There’s a ton of old currency that no one cares about and no one will miss the penny. I thought it only survived as long as it did because it’s got Lincoln on it and IL (his birthplace) didn’t want the symbol to go away

I never quite understood why the Pythons made those characters Australian. Was the alcoholism of the Brits not famous enough to be funny?
Japan sorta did this, but it was with malt percentage rather than alcohol amount. Beers were taxed under laws that taxed any drink malted more than 67%, so beer companies got around it by dropping the malt percentage. Then a new tax category was created and less malted drinks followed. Long story short they now make a beer type drink malted less than 25% called happoshu.
The populace didn’t vote for her specifically. The last general election was in 2024.
