  • Same, I enjoy the classic shared library and package system which I still feel is superior to flatpak versions in most cases, even ignoring the technical aspects of each.

Tried silverblue once and it just felt more like android to me, and I even found myself using RPM layers almost immediately for core things that dont ship as Flatpak because its infeasible.

Plus Bazzite has its own release schedule which I feel like slightly removes the benefit of Fedora kernels being cutting edge, with critical packages updated almost as fast as Arch.

The good thing though is that it’s much more dummy proof, so I would feel comfortable letting anyone use it with zero experience, whereas I only recommend Fedora to those who have an inherent interest in Linux.

  • Really?

This is literally where LLMs have probably the most advantageous use with practically no downsides. Their devs aren’t idiots that are suddenly vibe coding. Using an LLM can be an invaluable tool.

Linux already has merged code that had some form of LLM input years ago.

It’s not about whether or not you’re using an LLM as part of your work process, its more about whether or not you’re submitting shitty code.

Even if you want an alternative for this reason, I can probably bet you that several PRs in Vaultwarden were probably looked over by someone’s Claude chat while they were writing and testing it, or straight up took generated code and edited to their needs.

Hell I’d even bet Lemmy has PRs that have been touched by LLMs.

  • In case anyone is wondering why USDA organic popped off back in the day it was because of this.

No one is buying organic produce because they think its healthier than GMOs. People were just smart enough to know eating a mouthful of Monsanto acid everyday probably isn’t healthy, no matter how much the company claims herbicides and pesticides don’t affect humans.

The entire idea that “organic is healthier because its natural” was a scam manufactured by these companies to overshadow the fact that they shower their crops with ridiculous amounts of anti weed, anti insect, etc with GMO crops modified to be able to resist increasingly stronger solutions.

And not that USDA organic is even the correct solution. Its still overpriced and doesn’t solve the underlying issue.
