    Keep in mind that this only counts the first occurrence. Women in abusive relationships will only count as 1 instance despite experiencing violence and/or sexual assault regularly over a long period of time. This is also likely an underestimate, as not everyone wants to admit that they were the victim of violence, and some of us get gaslit by others so hard that we no longer even believe we’re a victim at all—that it was somehow our fault.
