How is Napoleon Italian, when Italy the nation didn’t exist at the time, and sovereignty over Corsica was officially exercised by the French?

He doesn’t seem to have been turkish and I honestly can’t find whoever else it’s supposed to be. I was thinking Confucius but he wasn’t turkish either.

Turkic not Turkish. Pedantic distinction but this includes the Uyghurs, Golden Horde, amongst others. The late tang was Turkic. But still unsure of who they are supposed to be in the picture

But it does not include Mongols, though they shared some cultural similarities they were ethnically distinct as their languages were mutually unintelligible.

This week, someone posted here about Jára Cimrman, and well, let me just quote Wikipedia:

In 2005, Jára Cimrman won a public vote for the title of “The Greatest Czech” (he was subsequently disqualified due to being a fictional character).

But also, “Cimrman” is a transliteration of the German surname/word “Zimmermann” (carpenter).
So, Czech people made up a tongue-in-cheek national hero that apparently has German heritage. 😅
