My ex wife and I are still on friendly terms. I don’t think we have any mutual friends anymore since she left the state but I’d absolutely go to major life events, like if her brother got married, funerals, hell, if she ever got married again I’d be petty surprised if I wasn’t invited, although she is fairly adamant that she doesn’t have the capacity to live with anyone again. We’ve both grown and changed over the decades and continue to do so. What seems crazy to me is the people that loved each other enough to get married at some point in their life and then start acting like shit or hurting each other. The way some people talk makes me even happier I chose to marry my ex wife. We don’t talk every day or even every week but if either of us ever needed anything, it would be no questions asked.
