Wait… The “doctored” pic is the one where he’s more tan and has a less narrow head/jaw? I’ve been reading this story wrong all week. Why the hell would “they” publish a pic that made him look more conventionality attractive??

I’ve been bitching about people who “upscale” pictures just for shits and giggles for like a year now, and this is fucking why:

The file name for this image on Wikimedia Commons featured the words “AI upscaled.” Pretti’s scrubs featured illegible letters, indicating the use of AI. (Wikimedia Commons)

Humans will unintentionally train AI to do shit without realizing it. Tell it to upscale a picture 10 times, and pick the best. Chances are it didn’t just juice the resolution, it did a bunch of imperceptible things to make the person more conventionally attractive.

Brainrot AI addicts are used to it, so they draw the line of realistic waaaaay off base like this image and regular people easily notice.

It’s the same shit as body dysmorphia where a 5’10 80lb model think she looks fat, because all her time is spent with other models. Or a Marlago wife who doesn’t realize all the plastic surgery to fit in at marlago makes her look like a ghoul anywhere else

The people upscaling these images are disconnected from reality and what looks “good”.
