Came here to post this. Early in our relationship, my girlfriend “dragged” me into this place, promising I wouldn’t regret it. 3 hours later, we walked out in a daze. It is almost impossible to describe to anyone. Just talking about the things you see in there in no way does justice to the experience of being inside. You mention the whale… But neglect that said whale is fighting a giant octopus? And that all of this is surrounded by a 3 story ramp lined with hundreds of huge model ships? Or the giant carousel? Or the plinth room that juts from the front of the place high above the trees you can feel bouncing as you approach the end? Those are just a few of the highlights. There’s absolutely no way to understand what you’re walking into… It just needs to be experienced.
Nah…I don’t think it’s all that macabre. It’s just…humans. I can’t fix anyone but me. To try invites madness.
But yeah…100% where my “use sarcasm and humor to cope” comes from.

Worse, due to the number of people killed in that process…and the fact that it’s still happening, regardless of all the BS/rhetoric from government officials “outraged” at the illegality of it all. I actually think they stopped worrying about calling it anything else, at this point.
Yeah, I get that. Learning people have blind spots they don’t like being called on, regardless of whether they’re aware of them, was a hard lesson for me. My instinct is to “help”. Most folk know their own brand of bullshit, though, and just want someone to say, “Man…that sucks!”, and move on. I have a hard time with that, still.
I am lucky, I guess, in that I have had a core group of very close friends for almost all of my several decades on this planet. With them…I sugar coat nothing. I pull no punches. To do so would run counter to both who I am, and who they expect me to be. Further…I expect no less from them.
Anyone outside of my circle needs some time to get it… Or they don’t get inside.
My point being, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that behavior as long as it’s genuine, comes from a place of love, and isn’t just, “Look how edgy I can be”-type bullshit.

I meant kidnapped in place of ousted. We literally just… Kidnapped a sitting ruler, and then just… Moved in the news cycle. Like, I know Maduro wasn’t a good guy… But the fact that we just… Dragged him out of his house and “whisked” him out of the country? It’s unreal to me in this day and age. I know it’s not entirely unprecedented, but I always assumed that all happened because of the ability to obscure the facts from the public eye, due to the lack of mass communication.

“…Maduro…who was ousted in a U.S. military operation in January and whisked to New York to face federal drug conspiracy charges”
*Kidnapped.
Ftfy.
Cunts. My country is run, and fed propagandized bullshit, by sycophantic cunts. It sickens me.
There are a lot of well documented cases of very successful creative types who fit that bill. That it came from your head, presumably, without a lot of effort is the point worth paying attention to. 😉
I think you have a gift, my friend…

Ah… Following the MTG playbook, eh? Whelp, hope this guy doesn’t have a lot of him-sized windows wherever he is.
Well that was certainly… Something.

Indeed. We’re the baddies, Hans…

Thank you for the correction!

Yeah… Probably nothing to do with the fact we’ve been fucking with them since we helped to overthrow their Shah…

Whelp… Now I’m going to have to go listen to Irresponsible Hate Anthem…
“The Thing! Is his dork made of orange rock like the rest of his body!?”
No apologies necessary. You’re doing the Lord’s work, friend.
