Honestly I think keepass should be beginner. That comes first before everything else.

Also I think Tor Browser should come before VPNs. Its free and easier to use than VPNs (for when you want to google something secret and don’t want to be tracked. Most beginners are selective like that)

Tuta isnt really a replacement for proton. They dont even support PGP encryption, which is kinda the whole point of proton.

Good way to spread covid

Fortunately fdroid does some checks. And the third party audit does some checks. Thats already a lot of others checking it.

The EU covid app was released on fdroid. I would trust it if it was open source, audited by a third party, and finally made available on fdroid.
