Why am I not surprised?

I said it a while ago that Canada needs a ready made resistance force, similar to what the British did prior to, and during, ww2. I don’t mean random jackasses with guns, I mean people actually trained to fight and resist and who are given weapons that are secretly stashed and the stashes are only know to a handful of people in the groups.
Think Swiss system but on steroids. It won’t happen any time soon because as someone else mentioned here we won’t have much time (and it takes time to recruit people, vet them, and equip them. Especially when secrecy is important). Also given the anti-gun stance that Carney abd Trudeau have been taken and only getting stronger even a complete reversal of public opinion on gun control won’t make that change happen soon.

I saw them. They were fucking stupid. I don’t like Carney for many reasons but using AI images of him and his voice to sell scam investments is unacceptable and he should sue those assholes to oblivion.

You need to prove it though. There is a kind of medical test you can take to prove that. I forgot the name of it.

People wonder why I am a stickler for privacy and have been for a very long time. Shit like this is why. While my opsec is probably far from ideal, I at least try to maintain some level of it.
But shit like this is EXACTLY why privacy is such a critical thing that it is the bedrock of all other rights. Free speech is useless if you are under constant surveillance, especially by people with bad intentions. Unwarranted searches and seizures? Forget it, without privacy and companies wanting 24/7 live information on all sounds, images, and movements in your home? Yeah that shit is pointless. A single heated arguement, muttering something in your sleep, or anything, anything at all, is going to fuck you over.
I am going to give one example of what I mean. I knew a guy a long time ago who once told me that he stopped drinking alcohol for months. Yet when I visited the guy, the guy had beer in fridge and also had a habit of drinking a beer or even two at a bar before driving… at night. He wasn’t drunk and was within the acceptable BAC for driving, but just him making one statement online to me and me seeing another when visiting made me think: What if a random ass company had access to that information? Someone trying to pass themselves off as a teetotaller but actually drinking? Would they sell that information to insurance companies and his premiums would go up? What if the guy did say he drinks a little, but actually drank a lot more than that? And might fit the definition of a high functioning alcoholic? In some places being a diagnosed alcoholic can incur a lot of penalties. Like in Canada if a gun owner was also someone who HAD to have a few beers every day, but otherwise was OK, the addiction might be grounds for their firearms license to be revoked.
Going on that, what if any cop could randomly pull that information on drinking. Let us suppose someone likes to drink, but never drives after drinking, instead when they get home they crank open a few cold ones right away. There are new laws (or have been on the books for a while, I am not sure) that police can knock on your door up to 3 hours after you’ve been driving and give you a test to see if you have any alcohol in your system. So our guy who maybe downed 3 or 4 beers within the two hours of arriving home, that guy is going to show a decent BAC and the cop could charge him with DUI or a citation. An asshole cop could do this to fill a quota or just be an asshole to someone, and if they could get a hold of that information due to a company having full surveillence from multiple companies (credit card purchases, CCTV tracking, car telemetry tracking, etc, etc) all combined and made available to any ‘authority’ then live will be unbearable.
I could go on forever. But shit like this isn’t some DUI or marketing. This is a matter of life and fucking death for many people. Transpeople (and gays soon enough) will be in very real danger from this if they aren’t already. Remember that the average cop and ICE agent is dumb as rocks, but they system they work under isn’t. He is basically a caveman with access to tanks and drone strikes.
I want to know the original name of the painting. I think the actual subject matter was similar. The man asked for her hand in marriage snd she basically just laughed at him.

I am really fucking tired of this argument. Gun control in Canada has was never about public safety but was always about fear of people actually challenging the government. You know why in the recent years passing laws still using Polytechnique as the reason despite more recent (and deadlier) mass shootings? Because it was never about that.
In the 19th century and early 20th century gun laws in Canada were fuelled entirely by anti-Irish and anti-immigrant racism in general. In the 1970s the first real long-gun control was spurred by Quebec independence movements and in the 90s it was neither Polytechnique nor the Concordia shootings that spurred the modern gun license scheme. It was the Oka Crisis that had actual large numbers of armed First Nations forcing the government to negotiate instead of bulldozing over their land.
As for having enough gun rights for everything we need? Have you been living under a rock? Since 2020 the gun bans in Canada have gutted almost all shooting sports. Handguns cannot be obtained anymore, 3-gun is effectively dead, and they’ve banned thousands upon thousands of models of guns that were formerly non-restricted and uncontroversial, and now they stated they’re going after shotguns and they’re putting hinting at putting any shotgun with any kind of magazine on a to-ban list. They’ve also banned so many semi-automatic rifles that there are very, very few models that are legal, and I guarantee you, they will likely be mentioned soon.
They stated that any gun with a detachable magazine is not off the table for a ban. Do you understand that basically every single bolt-action rifle made after WW2 has a detachable magazine? It isn’t a war on gun crime. It is a war on shooting sports. Canada now, you might find hard to believe, likely has fewer legal gun models than the UK.
In the UK their licenses are harder to get, but if you get them, there are no magazine limitations, manually operated AR-15 are legal, and there are no illegal semi-auto rimfire rifles or magazine restrictions on them. In Canada they effectively are going to ban almost all semi-auto rifles and they’re going after many bolt-action rifles.
On top of that, the laws in Canada have never been proven to be effective. They’re also extremely expensive and have never delivered on their promises of gun confiscation despite the massive claim that it has.
Tell you don’t understand either guns or gun laws in Canada without telling me you don’t know that.

Live TV? OK a bit old fashioned, but we livestream it, too.
We could make a game show of it, too. Called ‘Cause of Death’. How it works is you do a hanging via strangulation and not neck breaking and you have someone who is a poor marksman volunteer to fire a few rounds at the palantir exec. Then they wait until vital signs go flat for a few minutes.
Then we take bets on the cause of death. Was it the gun shots? Or the hanging? A live autopsy shows the results.

Shit like this is why canada needs to restore gun rights and allow for ownership of guns for national defense. It isn’t a novel concept in Canada, Canadians were the ones who taught Americans how to shoot.

Palantir needs to be outlawed, their data destroyed, and all the executives tried for treason, crimes against humanity, conspiracy to commit crimes against humanity and hanged.
In many cities bikes and motorcycles are illegal to drive during winter months. Just looking outside where I am living tells me the law is a no-brainer.
Also one thing. I remember seeing a video with Edward Snowden who said that the first thing he does when he gets a new phone is open it and remove the microphone, and if he needs to make a call he has an attachment to it that has the needed microphone.
I have soldering tools and stuff. I am willing to take a risk in busting up a 40$ DAP if it means physically removing the microphone from it and eliminating any chance of it being used.
Can we also make housing affordable again?
What is SCIF?
With a wired earbud set i think I can keep my Bluetooth turned off. That does usually mean it is off and hackers/corporations can’t get to it, right?
I have an ancient but functional Galaxy Ace 2. It a 2012 vintage. Would that be able to track me or would I be safe? It is a 3G max and is not 4g or LTE capable.

Yes. I am also the king of typos.
The US kidnapping Carney won’t cripple the government but it will cause a major outrage. Unlike Maduro Carney is popular and was duly elected.
I don’t like Carney for many reasons, but I did vote for him and I don’t want him abducted or assassinated.
