Smith’s notion of a landlord was rather different from what we call a landlord now.
It really isn’t.
He notes that landlords seek the maximum price they can get from a tenant in Chapter IX of Book I, and talks about building-rent landlords (what we interact with them as in our daily lives today) in Chapter V of Book II.
