You should hear what these MAGA people say about the situation. My most memorable remark came from a relative I have in Idaho, who told me that she understood how hard it is for people like me (who oppose Trump), because she herself (a perpetually “persecuted” white Christian MAGA voter) lived through Obama’s two terms.

I scaled back to only necessities for the last 2/5ths of last year, I’m still spending as little as I can on things that aren’t necessary for surviving, but I will admit to having starting going out to like bars festivals and concerts for 2026 when I’m not too depressed to do so. And I 100% support everyone else trying to starve the beast as best they can, I’m also telling as many people as will listen to enjoy the things they can right now, because all of our lives are about to become much much more difficult for the foreseeable future
Complaining about fuel that’s sitting at the equivalent of 55p a litre, in the UK it’s almost £1.70 a litre for petrol.
