The goal of this survey is to paint as complete a picture as possible of how people play tabletop roleplaying games today. Please share this as widely as possible, especially with people you know who don't normally engage with the online RPG community. We want to hear from as many different types of RPG players as possible. All data will be publicly released on my blog for anyone to analyze once the survey has ended. The survey should take 10-15 minutes to complete.

    Unlike some of the other commenters, I had no problem answering the questions, even though I do not always play the same way.

    Folks, it’s asking what you prefer, not what you always do. If you have no personal preference and just go with the flow, pick the middle option. If you have a preference, pick that even if you sometimes do it your less preferred way for some reason, such as the way the game is designed or how the group interacts.

      Most of these questions are not about preferred ways to play but about approval. I’m not sure if the preference is even mentioned anywhere.
