We’ve been trying to make things work, and some days it feels easier than others. But lately, it feels almost impossible. The constant misunderstandings, the short tempers, the emotional exhaustion, it all starts to take a toll. We’re both trying, yet somehow we keep finding ourselves in the same place, feeling drained and disconnected. How do you make things work when even trying starts to feel exhausting?

I think the most important thing is that both people go in with eyes wide open and no rose colored glasses. Mariage is hard and sometimes you have to get through with you commitment to see it through. You both need to honestly put forth effort you are capable of and you both have to understand when you fall short. People have this advice like always X or always Y but the truth is you are both human. Your gonna fight. Sometimes severly. The more you bond and know each other the more you can push each other buttons. Responses on that can be pretty severe. You have to appreciate each other because you are going to annoy the heck out of each other at times. Today I was like geez for the life of her my wife can’t seem to use the sink plug properly but you know its a silly thing and my wife is amazing all said and done. She does not see how amazing she is and I don’t see how I could possibly be amazing but I hope she sees something. Be close and affectionate but give each other space. Let yourselves be human and understand your spouse will also be human. Actually the devils panties lady every so often has a good strip related to marriage. Never about fighting but shows her taking a good humor perspective on the challenges. Granted they have kids which is not something my wife and I have to deal with. Anyway its hard. Its always going to be hard. Take time to sit down every once in awhile and think about all the great that your spouse is and does. You will get through anything if your both of a mind to do so.
