Except many are blinded by “shareholder value”. If they follow Apple’s footsteps of unrepairable devices for a rabid fanbase, they can boast to shareholders, that they’re selling more units. He was a big pusher of hardware enshittification, wanting devices to be thinner and thinner, and bullied anyone owning “e-waste” phones and computers, and of course he made an infographic about why most people would be fine with wireless headphones.
I think you missed the point. It’s not about the money, it’s about a beneficial way to move forward that includes as many as possible. Money should always be secondary until we can wash our hands of it completely.
