Hvor på Fyn? Jeg tænker at sætte en op på Nordøstfyn 😁
I’m moving from 4TB to 10TB storage and the temporary server PeerTube is running on is not the best. There transcoding is disabled, to keep it as stable as possible.

PeerTube@lemmy.wtf•I am NOT the creator / associated with this project in ANY way. I just stumbled upon this, in the Peertube subreddit, and wanted to potentially share it here.
2·5 days agoVery cool! Will definitely try it out.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can someone break down the real differences between kbin, mbin, Lemmy, and PieFed? I know they're all in the Threadiverse, but I'm not sure what the draw is to use one over another.
2·14 days agoIt’s different software, doing the same thing differently.
Just like all the different forks of Mastodon.

4·14 days ago“Threadiverse” was used before Facebook. Threadiverse refers to a sub verse of the Fediverse.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Which Llama Server Hardware do you use?English
3·15 days agoThat entirely depends on the specific models and use case.
Backups of the LXC container has been enough, but I’m thinking about doing a secondary backup of the DB itself.
Everything runs in the same container.
I have restored the container many times. Also, every time there’s an update, I backup the container first and then I can restore it if something breaks.
I have 2 local backups and then 3 remotely at Hetzner.

Europe@feddit.org•Europeans rush to buy solar and heat pumps as energy bills soarEnglish
1·16 days agoI already had the inverter and solar panels for a few years, when I added the battery pack.
BMS: 300 EUR Battery (5 kWh): 1300 EUR
I can then stack batteries on top of each other op to 5 batteries in total.
If you were to get the same setup, excluding solar panels, the price would be 3200 EUR.
I’m sure that could be done a lot cheaper though, if you only wanted a battery pack and no solar. Then you could probably get a much cheaper inverter.
I have 2000 kWp solar setup, which roughly saves me about 300 EUR/year.

2·17 days agoA 5 kWh battery is about 1300 EUR, with a 10 year warranty.
1-2 EUR is minimum saved pr. day. Let’s just say I only save 1 EUR pr. day. That’s 365 EUR/year. RoI is max 3.5 years.
He should just stick to talking about WoW lol
Host PieFed instead.
With that said, I host Lemmy.wtf, which is a rather small instance.
Proxmox > LXC > Docker.
The container has 6 vcores and 6GB RAM.
Backups are handled by Proxmox.
Do you mean a 64GB SSD or did you really have to upgrade to 64GB RAM to run your Lemmy instance?

1·17 days agoWhere do you live? I also have a heat pump for hot water and floor heating. Compared to winter, it barely runs in the summer months, but sounds like you live in a colder place than Danmark?
There’s still money to be made (saved), by buying during the cheapest hours and using it during the expensive hours.
I can save about 1-2 EUR every day by buying during cheap hours and using it during expensive hours. Days I can just use the sun, I of course save even more, because I barely have to buy any electricity, except for a few hours at night.

2·17 days ago10 MWh is a lot for just 3-4 months. Do you have a Jacuzzi and heated pool? 😅
For the months you can’t produce enough electricity, you buy the electricity during the cheap hours and then use it during peak hours, when it is most expensive.

3·17 days agoYou can invest in batteries. Then you can store the energy produced and use it later, like at night time. You can also buy electricity when it is cheap for the battery and then use it when it is expensive.
