I’m assuming this means they have common ancestors with the famous Medici, but it goes back even more generations so they’re not descendants of those people
I mean technically we all are related if you go far back enough. Probably you and I are related if you go back 10, maybe 20 generations, but you’re not a descendant of my grandparents (I assume - would be weird to find out otherwise)
honestly speaking did not put much effort into this research. I was intrigued and checked a couple of websites which all seemed to claim they are long dead and gone and posted one of them here.

same here. that was what my skim said. I just got a “hey, our history book says there’s none left YOUR DNA IS LYING SHUT UP” vibe from it
