World News@lemmy.world•Airbus CEO Calls on Europe to Acquire Tactical Nuclear WeaponsEnglish
1·3 days agoThe question is more the following: can we trust them to use the information available to them honestly or are they more likely to distort or hide facts if it aligns more with their interests. If the latter is a common situation, then that is not an insane take.

World News@lemmy.world•Airbus CEO Calls on Europe to Acquire Tactical Nuclear WeaponsEnglish
1·3 days agoThe problem is that most people don’t trust them to actually inform goverments with their well-informed opinion but with their interests in mind. And if that is a reasonable point of view, then whether or not they have a well-informed opinion becomes irrelevant.

3·4 days agoI used sync for a while then once it became sort of dead tried a couple others and settled with boost. The most important factor is that it is the only Lemmy app (that I could find) that orders saved posts according to the time you saved them and not when it was created.
ps: After looking at some of the comments here I checked a couple others and jerboa also does the same

Wait, so as far as I understand she wants the sexism removed from republican party but wants all the other stuff like racism and bigotry to remain? I am sorry dear, they come as a package, drown in the shit hole that you fought so hard to protect.

World News@lemmy.world•Airbus CEO Calls on Europe to Acquire Tactical Nuclear WeaponsEnglish
0·8 days agoSo we should also trust health insurance companies’ CEOs’ ideas about how health care should be structured? If they are likely to put their company’s interest above anything else, then this is a very valid question. And big corporations are notorious for doing exactly this.

World News@lemmy.world•Airbus CEO Calls on Europe to Acquire Tactical Nuclear WeaponsEnglish
1·7 days agoI mean it is not unimaginable that someone with low moral standards may be exaggerating the risks involved to fear monger governments etc to work with them. It is a general distrust of big corporations that make people here skeptical. If companies like meta, google, tesla etc have no reservations about doing extremely shitty and dodgy things and also able to come out of those with net positive effects, why wouldn’t this guy? When someone says “corporations should not set defense policy”, they don’t actually mean setting it on a governmental level. What they mean is that they should not even be able to inform policies because they are likely putting their interest above other ethical considerations.

3·13 days agoWhat is to be expected when the current trend among CEOs is to get the same stuff done with less employees and same salaries hence resulting in either you getting fired, resigning or doing x2 the amount of work with no real life improvements. Who would have the willingness to continue their side hobbies/project like contributions to open source when your main life is in shambles.

1·13 days agoLets not forget the part where he asks advice from Epstein on how to romantically approach one of his mentees.
I don’t think he feels any remorse, he is just trying to strategically minimise his losses by giving the appropriate soulless responses. Anyone with a drop of conscience and respect for their students would have permanently resigned from teaching.
