Within 24 hours, Steam updated their launcher to be as fast or faster, without announcing it.

(Insert “look what they need to do to match our power” meme here)

I think I would stick with the tried-and-true product, instead of the new toy from people who say “coding is hard,” because the latter’s attitude is a red flag for quality.

Breaking news: software written from the ground up in 2026 opens faster than software that’s been developed, extended, bloated, and maintained for over two decades.

Steam releasing a performance patch so soon after makes it even funnier.

    faster than steam

We are setting a very low bar here… There is no person (I hope) who uses steam because the program itself is good… And the other publishers’ launchers being crap doesn’t make it good

Restoring from the system tray will save you 0.06seconds!!! How can value compete with that.!.

Oh yeah, by being a decent platform for buying games.
