Got some meshtastic boards, they arrived yesterday and I managed to get both set up and connected. Also managed to solder a battery from an old rechargable lamp onto one of them so it’s portable. never soldered before so it was an experience but nothing exploded. Now today I can fiddle around with it while planning the next stages
Its all pretty new to me, but I loved the concept, even if I understand almost nothing yet lol. I think it was about 60 dollars for the stuff needed to make 2 nodes so not free, but cheaper than Lego lol
Meshcore does look awesome, but fully new to the whole scene and meshtastic covers the needs for my first few projects, definitely going to check out meshcore once im more comfortable.

Be careful soldering batteries. Invest in some battery holders.
Definitely plan on upgrading the safety level before the next project, but very good suggestion about battery holders, thank you.
Also keeping a very close eye on it over the next few weeks for any swelling or warmth.
“Nothing exploded” is generally a good way to go!
That’s generally my benchmark for a good day lol
Okay so I didn’t know what meshtastic is until I just looked it up, it sounds cool af tbh.

nice to see mention of mesh here 😁
but you won’t find many people on Meshtastic anymore. #meshcore is where it’s at 😎
