    Is that remarkable? The authors make the prevalence of parasites as the big takeaway from their study, but bizarrely they don’t cite any other papers of typical parasite load in this fish species or others. I need a frame of reference.

    For a big fish, it’s how many parasite they have not if there’s one or not. When you’re a giant fish the number matters. The article mostly talks about possible allergic reactions to some of the parasite antigens which can persist after the parasite is killed by freezing.

      See, the parasite is killed by freezing, but you’re still eating dead parasite bodies. That’s what really gives fish it’s flavour. Fish is uniformly tasteless, but … parasites! Sorry, Big Fin, I had to expose the conspiracy.

    Article fails to mention that these fish are typically deep frozen, which kills the parasites. And not all fish parasites infect humans.

    This is concerning, but those are important to consider.
