That’s not echolocation…
The concept of bird calls would confuse non-scientific readers.
The world forces you to grow old, never let it force you to grow up.
My mother’s house used a cuckoo sound: when it was dinner time, her mom would summon the kids home with the loudest of cuckoos that could be heard for blocks around. Kids who didn’t present for dinner … didn’t get dinner.
This has become a running joke even amongst us grandkids, and the cousins all joke about it. But when I was on the other side of a LONG ferry queue (reminiscient of a wally-world parking lot) I heard the lilting tones on the wind of a far-off ‘cuc-koooooo’ and there was the (ex-army, some related voice-training) sibing waving enthusiastically.
I like how your story turned into prose.
Back when malls were really a thing, I once walked past a friend in one without noticing her. She apparently noticed me, though, and happened to be walking past a police officer.
This was in roughly 2001, so well before ACAB was a thing.
She briefly addressed the officer, told him my full name, and asked him to get my attention. He turned around and shouted my name in a very authoritarian manner. It was alarming, but I can’t deny it got my attention.
My spouse and I often play Marco Polo if we ever get separated in a small store or somewhere. Many times the local college students join in. It’s always funny
Was it necessary to refer to someone in their late 30s as aging
Everyone at every age is aging.
But especially people in their 30s.
I took it as aging past childhood, but growing up would be better.
It’s Türkiye now.
When Erdogan extends his majority they are planning to add more accents.
My wife and I use the Tusken Raider battle cry.
I haven’t heard that since the Revenge of the Nerds movies – and what a mess those were.
I have family who worked in casinos all their lives, and they use the kissing sound they’re taught to use when working in the casino when out and about.
Tell me about why they use the kissing sound in casinos.

It’s an attention signal and it seems to sound like a cartoon smooch.
Thx.
