The transphobic Harry Potter author was slammed for her social media soliloquy by fans of the iconic ally.
Can’t believe I’m defending her but I expected a lot worse. What she wrote seems like the usual diplomatics you exchange after someone died that you knew of (unless I’m missing something major here, if so, please tell me). Now her reaction to a commenter, further below, that’s weird.
She claimed to support a woman who supported trans people, and while doing so, deadnamed a trans woman.
also masculinzed her name on her books.
It’s the hypocrisy that stirs most discontent. Both self made women, by one with massive empathy and support for others and another with very little too show for it, except hateful messages on the internet.
But yeah even shitty people can mourn others. And people like nothing better than berate people that have been deemed irreversiblebly shitty, it seems to give hate a free pass, and that feeds the spiral of hate, which is generally worse situation for everybody.
God forbid someone famous doesn’t agree with their ideology…
