It’s a hell of a thing to find yourself hoping it was “just” a suicide.
Sigh.
Even if it were a suicide, a black person hanging themselves from a tree in Mississippi is akin to self immolation, imo. It indicates a societal problem.
But that’s definitely not what happened here, which indicates a much greater societal rot.
