Las Vegas hospitality workers say they're squeezed by a tourism slowdown they blame on Trump's tariffs, high gas prices due to the war in Iran and the cost of living.
Don’t worry, it is unlikely the US will pull out of this tailspan of shutting itself out from the rest of the world (in every way but military intervention ughh), and as a result Las Vegas is a dead city walking especially with the climate of the area functioning as a fast approaching cliff face for humans who want to keep living there despite nature giving every sign possible to them to get the hell out.
I am going to enjoy watching Las Vegas decay, shrivel up and die.
The city will die nothing can stop that, the people and communities don’t have to however, what determines that is a willingness to talk about this NOW not when the really bad months of hardly livable conditions get worse and worse.
Police are generally terrified of everything they enter including their spouses, that is like saying “that hanging plastic sheet is so scary even horses get spooked by it!”.
They did not have enough resources to sustain it when they built a ton of new houses back in the early 2000’s and they never fucking stopped building. Even after the crash and the majority of their market went underwater. They just kept building.

So many people will die, that’s nothing to celebrate

There are already homeless encampments under bridges and in parking garages so dangerous even police are afraid to enter.

Denial is a strong American pass time :(
