In the original post, from which I cross posted, they mentioned that apparently a lot of trans people resonate with hard games, where you need to learn and practice a lot to achieve your goal. And Celeste was also a big hit in the trans community and its developer also came out as trans afterwards.
Huh, interesting. I wonder if that’s actually true that trans people are more drawn to hardship than other demographics, or if that’s just a social reinforcement feedback loop somehow.
I think saying drawn to hardship has an unintended implication that they choose to be trans. And therefore choose hardship. That’s who they are, not what they choose. That’s why it bristled for me.
Ah okay, yeah, no, that’s not at all what I intended to mean. It was more that they are going through hardship constantly due to their transness, and therefore might get bored with games that don’t offer a challenge, because being trans made them tough as shit, and resilient. 😅 If they weren’t already, of course.
No idea about the fork to be honest.

It may not be drawn to hardship, so much as ability to overcome difficult circumstances. Or persistence. Or patience. Or adaptability. Or resilience.
Let’s not jump to negative conclusions.
Sure, not necessarily negative, hardship was a poor choice of word. I meant more like a challenge.

But it’s just wild speculation.
