Thyroids are temperamental bastards! Mine crashed in pregnancy 13 years ago and hasn’t worked properly since. I’ve been stable on thyroxine for the most part, but when I was too low I developed a nodule, which i was convinced was cancer. It wasn’t, and a dose increase reduced the nodule again. The ultrasound can be a bit uncomfortable with rhe pressure but I’m sure yours will be good.
Thyroid is pretty good as far as health issue go. It’s superficial so no deep surgery if it goes that way. If it’s just a bit funky you can take Thyroxine? (T3/T4 hormone IIRC) which is cheap on the PBS. Finally better to know than not so you can deal with it appropriately.
I had to get one of those when I got my cancer diagnosis. They were looking for nodules on the parathyroid glands. A bit uncomfortable, but not terrifying. The tech who did the test was really good at explaining.
Tomorrow I’m going to get an ultrasound to see if there is something wrong with my thyroid.
Truth is, I am somewhat afraid.
And so it goes.
Best wishes for a good result!!
Thank you ❤️

Let’s hope it’s nothing major
