new cats (esp very new cats) need lots of care and attention, vaccinations, and, at around edit: a year six months old, need to be neutered. this can come with a lot of costs for the kitty-parents. used cats come with much of this taken care of already and are far more independent.
regarding “value”-- that may be a matter of opinion, considering how adorable kittens are.
hmm, I guess it’s been a while for me. I think that, for males, around a year might be when it’s hitting the red line for when it might be too late and they can start spraying/marking?
How is a used cat a better value than a new cat? Both are free, but the new one lasts longer.

That’s exactly why I always buy used cars. They come pre-neutered.
I got a new car and forgot, and now im swimming in scooters 😫
You should be spaying or neutering your cats way before 1 year.
It’s around 4-5 months.
Is that what Bob Barker told you?
I don’t remember Bob going into that level of detail about it.

Yeah, and with both it can prevent some hormone related cancers down the road.
Used cat has probably been rescued so probably better giving it a new lease of life
I see you’ve never had to bottle feed a 3 week old kitten every 4 hours.
Used cat comes with experience
