Russia said on Monday that Finland’s reversal of its long-standing ban on nuclear weapons requires a response as tensions between NATO and Moscow continue to rise. Finland’s parliament voted on June 17 to lift the ban, which allows the country to receive, transport, and facilitate the movement of nuclear weapons on its territory as part of […]

Yes, those little countries between the old NATO border and Russia are just mindless pawns without any autonomy of their own. Fuck off with your imperialist speech.

Those countries could choose between siding with NATO and siding with Russia and they chose to side with NATO because Russia is antagonistic and untrustworthy. It wouldn’t matter if Russia had been lied to because if Russia had been a reliable ally to its neighbors there wouldn’t have been a NATO expansion. Russia getting fenced in is their own doing.

Calling Russia imperialist is DARVO. Those states are US vassals, and it’s tragicomic everyone talks about sovereignty and standing up to the US while kissing the ring as the US abuses them.

I didn’t call Russia imperialist, I called your wording imperialist. But I can see how you’d miss that obvious distinction so I guess the fault lies with me.

Those states are US vassals, and it’s tragicomic everyone talks about sovereignty and standing up to the US while kissing the ring as the US abuses them.

That’s why it only took the US half a century, the Ukrainian war and direct threat from Putin himself to have Finland and Sweden become a part of NATO? It makes perfect sense because only a vassal state would refuse to do what their lord wants unless doing it becomes in their self-interest. My bad for having some grasp on reality.
