The land covers an area almost the size of Liechtenstein.

If there’s a guy on this planet I would think bought that in order to drop people in the middle of nowhere and hunt them down like dogs, it’s Alex Karp.

SYAC: Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir Technologies, purchased 15,000 hectares (37,000 acres) of forest in Härjedalen, Sweden, for 235 million kronor ($22 million). For comparison, Liechtenstein covers an area of about 16,000 hectares.

For some context on how empty the place is, the largest town in Härjedalen is Sveg, with a population of 2500 people.

I definitely believe that Karp bought land for 20 million dollarydoos because “it looks nice”, nothing to see here!

A potential motivation could be his interest in cross-country skiing. That area is very good for it.
