Successful dins w/ SILs fam last night thankfully. They’re a great bunch. All differences put aside w/ bro and sil last night (but for how long).
Brought some chillies along just to pseudo flex. When in indo (where they’re from) a few years ago for bro and sils’s wedding they were saying indonesian chillies are hotter than australias. Hold my beer. Chillies don’t care about borders. Had to ask the wait staff for some milk for them lol.
But the language barrier and how universal humour is, is fascinating.
Turns out sil’s aunt is sort of a tycoon, owns a shitload of property over there and offered a free round trip crashing at her places which is something wild to consider (and I am heh).
Wildest thing though was that aunt’s kid (20 something) is a DJ and showed me some vids of the parties they throw there (and not in a tourist town). The things I go to here are way more tame than that. I honestly thought indo party scene would be far more conservative.
Not the case.
The more I learn about that culture the more confused I am (in a good way).
