Police in Britain will be able to require illegal migrants to remove their coats and allow mouth searches at British ports so officers can look for mobile phones or SIM cards and gather intelligence on their journey, the government said on Monday.

“Using invasive powers to search through the clothing - and even inside the mouths - of desperate and traumatised people when they have just survived a terrifying journey across the Channel is a dystopian act of brutality,” said Sile Reynolds, Head of Asylum Advocacy at Freedom from Torture

Except it’s not if you’re applying for asylum. A better term is irregular migration.

It doesn’t matter? You can apply for asylum by legally crossing the border as tourist. Those people do not cross border legally = they are by definition illegal immigrants.

Ah, yes persecuted people in countries where their government might kill them on sight should’ve just asked that same government nicely for a passport and a visa for a tourist visit abroad.

To reiterate what you’re calling bullshit while linking links showing what youre saying is complete bullshit; asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants.

Asylum is a fundamental right and an international obligation for countries, as recognised in the 1951 Geneva Convention on the protection of refugees.

Why is it that you refuse to think for yourself?
