Just so you are all aware, another candidate is on the ballot for that district: Bushra Amiwala. She also advocates for abolishing ICE. She has our (DSA) recommendation in our voter guide:

She showed up in front of socialist banners proudly, and said she embraced our cause as one of the antidotes to the problems we are facing. We heartily suggest voting for her in the primary as someone who embraces the local left causes and will fight for them.”

Reasons we don’t like Kat:

• She was a republican up until a few years ago and was raised in a republican house. That doesn’t always matter, but i think it does with Kat

• She’s just not in favor of Medicare for all and doesn’t seem to have given a lot of social services, much mind

• She refuses to work with or acknowledge DSA, refuses to take the questionnaire, and has bailed on several engagements.

• she prioritized JUF over DSA. That’s the lobby making it difficult to repeal the anti BDS law.

Overall, she seems to be a social media star and riding on that. I value her efforts (photo ops?) at Broadview, but over all it’s a sloppy campaign according to our Electoral Group.
