I used to care about causal relationships but now my brain has been damaged by the 2024 US election and I just can’t mentally produce the energy to thrust myself out of the black hole of disgust and resentment, yeah.

The thing is I kind of want to go back to caring I was happier then but I’d have to somehow rewrite reality to not be surrounded by worthless sociopaths and anti-intellectuals. If you can’t beat them, join them. I’m going to try and destroy my brain further with alcohol and ruthlessly make money now.

I’m not misunderstanding. The meaning is explicitly laid out in the phrase itself. Its a memetic phrase and repeated as a point of propaganda, as your previous post alludes to. People who spot memes in the wild are going to interpret them at face value and the person posting the meme knows this. Neither party is going going to reflect on its historical meaning, they’ll just think “oh libs are fash”.

I also don’t think refusing to resist makes someone equivalent to fascist if they did everything they could to prevent a fascist take over already. If you think the blame lies at least partially on people refusing to vote or you think they are people purposefully hoping to drag you into violent conflict when this was all avoidable you don’t owe those people shit.

There are very few US citizens who made it out morally clean from the 2024 US election. Efforts to help them means helping bad people get what they wanted. Its rewarding them for making everything worse through their horrifically selfish gambit.

Make no mistake, I do not like liberals or their worship of private property. Liberals vary from awful people to at best morally flawed people. However, I think if they voted against Trump or canvassed for Harris, etc they’re better people than protesting vote-abstaining lefties.

See, I need to know then how serious that perspective is because for me, blurring the lines between ideologies (even bad ones) is largely just an emotional manipulation tactic.

You call a neo-liberal a fascist and they’ll get really upset. You call a fascist a liberal of any kind… they’ll also get really upset. So if that’s the goal that makes sense. But then leftists will say it to other leftists like its actually true, particularly campists, auth-left, and marxist-leninists will do this and this just seems dumb to me. They are different threats and should be treated differently.

I’ve always wondered what’s specifically going on their minds when that happens. I remember getting into shooters and pretty much immediately understanding the two separate axes in Duke Nukem 3D at like age 7-8 (yeah I played violent games when I was young my parents only restricted movies). Maybe that’s why? My brain was just better able to learn at that age? Or is it that I am autistic? Is neurology a factor?

EDIT: Just realized, even younger, I played and beat Star Fox SNES, which only had 1 axis, where aiming and moving were bound together. Maybe it was the baby step of playing a simpler 3D shooter game.

I don’t at all. And I cherish the fact that I can rebind old inputs at will with Steam Input + emulators.

I rebinded the controls of Armored Core 1 so it played with modern shooter controls. Made it so much better and intuitive and now I wonder if the only reason I sucked at the game back in the day was because of its archaic control scheme.

If I am not mistaken, you have to shoot tannerite to cause it to go off. So unless the owner in this case is shooting guns in their house it seems pretty likely this wont go off or harm them, but will harm someone who chooses to shoot an armed civilian for not putting their gun down.

I’ll probably still vote for dems for logical self preservation and personal gain if you must know. IDK. We’ll see. My sense of self preservation is in a fight with my resentment and its basically a stalemate.

Neo-liberals are not fascists. They’re greedy, nihilistic, empty husks. But they are not frothing at the mouth for killing gay’s and gassing brown people. Neo-liberals can actually be relied upon to be capitalistic and not give a shit about nationalism or “traditional values” and are generally easier to fight because they don’t operate a cult (or at least not like the fascists do).

Who said I thought voting would solve the problem? You aren’t engaging with my core issue: non-voters were content to let Trump win. Are they worth my time and effort morally? Why?

I already know the DNC doesn’t align with me perfectly, as a mutualist I’m against private property. But they’re not fascists. I mostly just hate the DNC because of their weakness and ineptitude even more so than the liberal ideology.

That said, at least with the DNC, there is something I can get out of them politically with theoretically much less effort compared to the masses of non-voting 2024 morons who engaging with would be akin to trying to herd cats.

Hell, at this point: I don’t even care anymore. I kind of hate the non-voters enough that I’m now fueled by spite for them. I don’t care who wins elections anymore because I just can’t fucking give a shit. Its obviously out of my hands and the non-voters are getting what they deserve.

I only feel sorry for the people who are faultless, like the millions starving to death because Trump’s admin illegally shut down USAID, or the ICE round ups of innocent immigrants where they’re probably being human trafficked, raped, and murdered.

Like you, I was a consequentialist before the election. I’m struggling to stay that way and now I might be a virtue ethicist who hates all US citizens who were not consequentialist before November 5th 2024 because I think they’re just shit fucking people not worth saving.

Part of me wants to be wrong. I want to be convinced. And yet I’m always going to be deeply fucking resentful if I find myself helping these people ever again. I shouldn’t have to lift a fucking finger. Doing so literally psychologically hurts.

Its still a country dominated by people willing to throw people under the bus for personal gain, nationalism/racism, and their hatred of LGBT. And among the non-voters, you have proudly ignorant morons, & people pearl clutching over their personal virtue, & people hoping for the slight chance of a violent revolution where their ideology comes out on top of all the corpses in their delusional imagination.
