If you’re like me and you work with computers for a living and you don’t really want to put in the hard work of fixing computers at home, you can do what I did. Which is to download an abliterated local AI and tell it what the problem is and what specs you’re working with and it will almost always fix it for you in like five minutes.

And when it doesn’t fix it in five minutes, it will destroy your operating system with whatever commands it tells you to paste in a terminal, and you were going to be wiping and reinstalling it anyway, so nothing lost.

Except it’s not Chinese censored, it’s Native American censored, and it’s not censored because I colored the blood to white to make it look like cum, which in my opinion would be far worse to see than blood.

So it’s not uncensored. I mean, it is uncensored, but it’s also whatever the opposite of censoring is, where things get worse.

If my long-shot bid on kubuntu had failed to then bazzite was going to be my next distro.

I recently bought a new computer and decided to go Linux only. And because it was a new computer, it’s bleeding edge. I got the 9950X3D, I got 64 gigs of DDR5, I got the 5090. And by all measures, it is a fantastic machine.

That being said, getting Linux working on it flawlessly was a several day long adventure.

The motherboard has a driver for its 5 gigabit ethernet connection and I have 10 gig in the house so I assumed that it would work flawlessly out of the box, and instead it was only working at like 100 megabits.

The actual fix involved learning a new set of commands to modprobe in the correct driver after downloading it from the site, which was much more difficult than I feel like it needed to be.

That being said, I’m not a Linux noob. I have used Linux in servers for a decade now, easily, and I’ve never run into quite this level of difficulty getting hardware to work correctly.

And ultimately what I ended up doing was installing LM Studio and an obliterated AI so that I could throw all of the errors that konsole was spitting at me into the AI and let it work it out, which worked a treat once I realized I had the ability to do that.

Like, I’m gonna be real with you for a second. I’ve had this little crash out before, but I have actually tried to get therapy, and I have been given an appointment, and I showed up to the appointment, and the therapist fucking did not.

I have literally gone to multiple locations through insurance-approved things, and I have waited my time, and I have made the calls, and I have sent the letters, and I have sent the emails, and I have responded to the emails, and I have done all of the things. And I have been unable to get therapy, and I have decided that, since the universe will not allow me to have therapy, I’m not allowed to have therapy.

That would be the most fantastic thing if I lived in such an area, but alas, I do not.
