81·2 days agoThe party is losing support poll after poll after poll, and they think attacking leftists is going to help.
Yep, just now, in another thread I was accused of being being propaganda. LMAO All because I said that back in 2024, Lemmy was even more hostile to people who criticized the Dem party than they are now. It was wrong to do then, and wrong to do now lol
Democrats just can not accept responsibility for what happened for some reason. It’s always a blame game.
They need better candidates or shit’s gonna get even worse. How hard is it to find someone under the age of 60, and who has independent forward-thinking ideas and cares about the public?! WTF?! I like AOC, but I am not hearing any talk of them putting her in the running, so no clue what they are gonna do. But election is only 2 years away. They need to start doing something.

3·2 days agoThread was under my comments in this thread, so I responded. No that was not my username. I had to change my username because of doxxing attempts and numerous KYS dm’s I was getting. From searching just now, looks like your person is still an active current poster. I guess he didn’t ‘disappear after the election’ either.
I don’t use my old username anymore, and the instance it was on, closed. The person who told me to kill myself several times back then, and tried to dox me, is still around and still posts too. lol
I haven’t been rude or uncivil to you at all.
My profile isn’t ai generated. I’m here right now replying to you. I wrote my profile. Just because someone disagrees with you, it doesn’t mean they’re ai or that they’re bots or that they’re propaganda. Your comments are an exact snapshot of the time period I was talking about. So neither you or I left, and neither of us have changed our minds. Which means you believe in what you are saying, and I believe in what I’m saying. IMHO, neither of us deserve to be censored just because we don’t agree.

291·2 days agoThat’s the important part. Only 5% regret their vote. Most people in this thread who are celebrating and laughing, only read the headline.
This kind of “told you so!” stuff and thinking they were untouchable is what led to the Democrats loss. And will again if people aren’t careful. People need to stop thinking “Not Trump!”, because that doesn’t win elections. Dems need to come up with some good candidates who are more than just “not Trump.”

31·2 days agoThat means, foreign actors paying troll farms, accelerationists, MAGA-in-left’s-clothing.
lololol For lemmy. Which in 2024, had 50,000 active users at most, compared to 236 MILLION voting-age U.S. citizens. And of those 50K Lemmy users, what, maybe 20 were advocating for third party. How much do you think someone would pay 20 people to post on a platform that is so small?! lolol Think about what you are saying.
And they were banned, but what did it do? How did the election turn out? How do you think the election would have turned out if Lemmy didn’t exist? lol
I wish someone paid me to post. LMAO
Was it a sufficient cause on its own? Probably not.
This is the correct answer. So censoring people based on their views wasn’t a great look for Lemmy. And it didn’t change the income anyway.

3·2 days agovery likely bad faith astroturf and propaganda accounts.
And that’s the same tired argument that was made then. Why do you find it so hard to accept that some people just aren’t onboard with either of the two main parties? Look around. Tide is turning. Lots of people on Lemmy now are open to third parties now. Are they all propaganda accounts too?!
This is why you all lost the fucking election. Because you can’t wrap your head around the fact that you may be wrong about things.
Facts: Lemmy had about 40,000–50,000 monthly active users worldwide in November 2024. There were 236 MILLION U.S. citizens voting-age. 154+ MILLION actual ballots cast. Third-party advocates made an even smaller slice of that already microscopic global user base. It’s utterly ludicrous for anyone to think that third-party voters on Lemmy could have split the vote or had any meaningful say whatsoever in the presidential election.
Yet you are ok with them being censored because you were scared of them. How’d that work out? They were banned, and guess what? Trump still won. Again.
those people still magically disappeared completely from Lemmy after the election.
I was told I would “disappear” after the election. Maybe it looks like I did because I had to create a new username (not for ban evading–I actually blocked the instances I was banned from). But here I am.
Am I a ‘propaganda’ account, still going, 2 years after the election?
Not only that, but I see lots of people being accused of being alts of those ‘propaganda’ posters. So did they really disappear if their alts are everywhere? Hmmm…
You want democrats to win the next election? Then pick a candidate who can win. You all lost to Trump twice. Think about that.
Also, even if every single person who voted third party, changed their vote to Harris, she still would have lost. That’s how big the margin of her loss was. Lemmy wasn’t even close to making a dent in any of that, so to blame Lemmy posters for it is crazy.

12·2 days agoThey’re already openly talking about purging 100 million people, and a lot of them would certainly be natural-born citizens.
Hasn’t happened. Won’t happen.
Irrelevant.
Very relevant. You are wondering why so many people are against the Democratic party now. That’s one of the reasons. All of this could have been avoided if the Democrats really cared about people and picked good candidates. They lost to Trump TWICE!
Twice! Think about that. You can keep simping for them all you want, but I’ll vote for who I want to win. No nose holding for me. :)

See, that’s a path I just can’t get on. As crazy as I may seem tho, my gf is more more hardcore. She’d be fine without indoor plumbing, but fuck that, I want my fucking hot showers! 32·3 days agoI didn’t tell anyone to do anything. I told my thoughts about how I was gonna vote and why I came to that conclusion.
I think people should vote for whoever they want to win. We, as citizens, have that right. I supported it then, I support it now.
Heck vote for Trump if ya want to. I certainly wouldn’t, but i don’t think you should be banned anywhere for saying you would. Part of being part of a democracy is accepting that not everyone agrees with you. And that’s ok.
We are allowed to vote for whoever we want. And I did. And said why I did. And I will do again in the future.

13·3 days agolololol ICE doesn’t do that. If they did, there would be no one left on Lemmy! I was born a raised in the US, and my family was too, for generations. Ain’t no one coming for me, brother. lol
Besides, ICE wouldn’t even be able to find this village. I’d love to see them try to get here! lololol
The party I voted for would have dismantled them. Democrats wouldn’t have.
Interesting fact about how Democratic Party has dealt with ICE in the past:
Under President Obama (2009–2017, Democratic administration): Record-high formal removals (“deportations”): The Obama administration carried out more than 3.1 million ICE removals over eight years, with a peak of over 407,000 in fiscal year 2012 alone. An increase of over 70% in criminal removals compared to the final year of the prior (Bush) administration.
Expanded programs: Obama expanded the Bush-era Secure Communities program, which led to more local-federal cooperation for identifying and removing people with criminal records (or sometimes minor offenses). Critics on the left called him “deporter-in-chief” because of the scale.
Under President Biden (2021–January 2025, Democratic administration):
Continued large-scale removals and returns: Through early 2024, the Biden administration had carried out about 1.1 million formal deportations (removals/returns), on pace to match or approach Trump’s first-term totals in similar categories. In addition, there were roughly 3 million Title 42 expulsions at the border (pandemic-era public-health returns, overwhelmingly under Biden).
These are straight from government data and nonpartisan trackers like the Migration Policy Institute and Pew.
So like I said, both parties suck. The party I voted for wouldn’t have done that shit. That’s why I voted for them, and why I didn’t vote republican or democrat. :)

13·3 days agoDiscouraging people from voting for Harris didn’t just result in them voting third-party, it also resulted in them not voting at all.
No one on Lemmy was discouraged or persuaded to vote for anyone. You don’t think Lemmy had their minds made up? lolololol come on now, be real. We all know how Lemmy swings.
They change by having people with better ideology win the primaries.
Yeah? and now did that work out for you. You all lost against Trump, TWICE! How is that even possible? How did you all fumble the ball so badly?! Twice. Twice!!! lololololol
I am painfully aware. Of course, my standards will lower and thus the selection will expand as the US continues to be destroyed.
Yeah? Any good choices you are looking at? I’m in Alaska, so it’s practically a different country up here anyway. Ain’t nowhere I’d rather be in the world. Except maybe for Norway, but they don’t let people stay very easily.

32·3 days agoThe notion that third parties are viable in the Presidential election – especially when it’s only a month or two away and most people don’t have a clue who the third-party candidates even are! – is 100% misinformation.
I never said anything of the sort. I said I was proud to vote third party, and I’m still proud to. And I will in the next election too. :)

13·3 days agoNo, we lost against Trump. Me and you. Because you’ve comprehensively fucked your own future, too, even if you haven’t figured it out yet.
No, just you. My future hasn’t been fucked at all. I’ve been a prepper since before there was even a word for it.
See, I didn’t trust either side, so I made the necessary changes to my life that made it so I’m untouchable. Started doing several elections ago. Way up here north in the remote interior. I own my own land, my house, and my rigs outright, all paid off. I have zero debt. I’ve got enough saved up that I don’t need to work ever again. I haven’t had to work a job for the last 6 years.
I live in an unorganized borough with basically no property taxes. I’m zero debt and fully off-grid. Well water right on my property, plus rainwater and snowmelt catchment for backup, we get plenty of precip up here. I run a solid garden (made my own greenhouses to extend seasons), keep chickens, goats, and a few other animals. Me and my gf hunt and fish to fill the freezer. Around here we eat moose, deer, salmon, whatever the fuck is in season. Solar panels and battery bank power everything, with propane for backup and lotsa wood for heat when needed.
My neighbors are all cut from the same cloth. All of us are independent, trustworthy folks living the exact same way. We can’t depend on anyone else to bail us out anyway. lol
Guy, nothing you or Trump or the Democrats or any politician say or do down there has any effect on me or my life whatsoever.
You can’t even drive to where I am. Only fly in, take the railroad flagstop, boat, or snowmachine depending on the season. That’s why the guy trying to doxx me had such a tough time of it.
Picture an Amish-style self-sufficient life but Alaska-rugged, non-religious, and I still run tech like solar, batteries, and satellite internet where it actually helps. Politics doesn’t touch any of this. Never has, never will.
I’m as free as one can be in the current world. And most aren’t tough enough to even worry about trying to change that. It’s fucking awesome!! :)

I’m standing with ya, brother! Thank you!
