Videos@lemmy.world•Studies show Dutch children are more independent and less likely to be obese than other children. This is one of the reasons why
5·16 days agoThanks for posting this. Its good to see people with a completely different mindset showing alternative solutions can work, sometimes better than the original.
I live in the EU, but we still have serious car brain problem on the roads. Still not enough cycle paths.
Its a boring and shit board game, but shows perfectly how capitalism works.

News@lemmy.world•AI gold rush sees tech firms embracing 72-hour weeks
3·2 months agoJust wait until AI will take most of these jobs. Then the rest can finally work 100+ hour a week. Yeah bro!
Fun story: I made the exact same joke when someone was showing me a Japanese digital bidet toilet in a bathroom showroom. Turns out I was not the first one pointing this out, the guy told me with pokerface that most of these toilets have a sensor and the wash function only activates when it detects someone sitting on it. Also the nozzle retracts and its not exposed during toilet use and its disinfected with hot water automatically, so probably the water coming from it is just as clean as directly from the tap.
The more you know…

Technology@lemmy.world•Gen Z is ditching iPhones for $100 'feature phones,' and the numbers don't lieEnglish
1·3 years agoFor the past 10 years I never bought a phone for more than 300 euros.
I usually get a new phone every 3 years to have the latest tech and donate or recycle the old one.
For the last year I had an iPhone 13 pro (usually goes around 1100 euro) as a work phone and my personal Redmi Note 11 Pro I bought for 270 euros and not once I told myself: Man, this iphone is at least 3 times better than my Xiaomi. It’s clearly a premium product but a middle category budget phone can match most features and even more. I still have a headphone jack, bigger 120 Hz screen, IR blaster and an amazing fingerprint sensor.

They should add a bid option. Then watch people snipe your lunch the last second.
