Ever seen a license plate on a mail truck? No, you haven’t, because they don’t use them. The Federal government does plate some of their vehicles, but it’s well established that they don’t have to obey state laws about it.

My father was a Federal pig, many years ago, and I once had a conversation with him about how they plated their cars. A few of the vehicles were owned by the government, but most were leased. Some were registered with the state, to the government, they were only supposed to look like ordinary cars at a glance. Some were registered to fictitious identities that were designed to hold up to a background check conducted by another government agency. They also had fake plates, including fake Mexican plates, as this office was near the Mexican border.

You’re describing lynching. No change in law is needed, juries are free to nullify the law. Governors and the President also have the power to pardon. It’s how the system was designed to work.

Dictatorships can last for more than a lifetime. There’s no guarantee those complicit in its formation won’t die of old age before it falls.

Trump’s almost certainly going to die of old age before any meaningful amount of Democrats realize that pacifism is not a virtue, that there’s no nobility in victimhood. The question to ponder now is who Trump’s successor will be, and if they’ll be able to keep power without the cult of personality.

If a state did that, the Federal government would send armed men to arrest the Governor and state legislature for insurrection.

Might as well skip the bullshit and order the state police to start shooting Feds, instead of surrendering the initiative.

Absolutely nothing is stopping you from filing an IRS Form W-4 declaring yourself exempt from Federal tax withholding. Which is the only way to stop sending tax money to the Federal Gov’t, your state gov’t never touches your payments.

But you won’t do that, because you would personally experience consequences.
