On the one hand, she did start with sympathy before she made her stupid ass comment.

On the other hand, it was unbelievably stupid and in support of a pointless war in the middle east.

But for context, I can’t imagine any Republican winning in Minnesota this year, so maybe she’s just running a sacrificial lamb campaign to launch her career as a right wing grifter.

People using a term incorrectly doesn’t rob the term of meaning. Enshittification is an ongoing process across hundreds of web services and other industries. It remains a set definition, regardless of colloquial use. It remains a useful and insightful concept, regardless of mass appeal or adoption.

You’re mad at people diluting the definition, but they can’t do that; They can only demonstrate their own ignorance.

If you’re the type of person who wants to punch a wall when someone says “irregardless”, then you learn to judge words by their utility, not their use case.

No one under him is qualified for bridge crew. Every single person not named in the credits on Voyager is completely incompetent. Promote Kim and you have to promote crewman Bushnell who thinks Warp drive opens a portal to hell everytime, smells awful and calls all women “females”.

This is a long, exhausting and difficult read. The absurdity, cruelty, stupidity, and savagery illustrated within is enough to make you need to lie down.

But there is also an inspiring clarity, repeated multiple times simply saying “This is wrong. This is murder. This isn’t complicated, really, and pretending it is, is nothing more than an indulgence to protect American ego.”

I’d like to read that sentiment more often, in more places.

Some people report is as you say, some say it’s “gaining traction”. Highly suspect sources go further, claiming the idea is popular. Even screening out Post Media, there are journalists reporting it as a “very real threat due to institutional support in the Premier’s office”.

I forget the title but there was a Superman game on original Xbox that gave Metropolis a health bar, Not Superman.

Beating up bad guys, stopping disasters and completing missions helped the city survive. Getting hit meant a few seconds where you were inactive and the city might take more damage.

It was a pretty inspired idea honestly. I don’t think the game was excellent but good design choice.

For the record, and I know I’m not the first to say it, this woman committed NO crime. She didn’t overstay a visa, she didn’t protest illegally. She wrote something the administration didn’t like.

For that, she was arrested by 8 masked officers in the middle of the street, in broad daylight. She was thrown in the back on an unmarked SUV. She’s received no legal representation. No trial. Not even charges, because again, she committed no crime.

Americans, you realize you’re watching the death of your rights and the rule of law, right? You have no illusions about the fact that you are defenseless? There is no longer any guardrail between you and an El Salvadoran prison camp. In something that reminds me very much of Stalin, an accusation is now a conviction.

Man, Charlie Angus has really been the man of moment here. He’s doing the same speech all over this country, seen it in a bunch of places. I know that sounds like a criticism - how can he be genuine when he’s repeating himself and refining the message? Isn’t that just a stump speech?

But it’s not. First of all, anyone who knows Charlie Angus’ record knows this isn’t new territory for him.

Second, the reason this feels so genuine is because it’s how WE feel. We aren’t being told what to think, we’re having our feelings put into words right in front of us.

And finally, these lines aren’t stupid slogans or focus group tested pablum. These are things I’ve heard other Canadians say to each other, things I’ve said, way before any political leader was saying it. He’s speaking in plain and easy language, in the exact terms Canadians think about this.

Populism and patriotism are heady, dangerous drugs. So quickly, they can pour over into mob-mentality, anti-intellectualism and nationalism. We have to be careful, and we have to be smart. But right now, man, I am riding this high. Elbows up!
