Wu was one of the few female physicist on the Manhattan project. Absolutely amazing what she accomplished despite having the double whammy of having to overcome racism as well as sexism. Currently on my watch list is a veritasm video that talks about her experiment.

I thought Madam Wu’s experiment provided a starting point for explaining why the universe exists despite its best efforts to annihilate itself. Disclaimer, I have passing interest in physics but I have no formal education on any of it.

The thing is that the ideal concept of “law” has already substantially and still actively being redefined. If I drive recklessly I will get a speeding ticket at least, meanwhile others can literally hurt and torture people without fear of repercussion.

Theft of the century is “AI”. They have literally stolen all of modern literature plus published research papers. Anthropic has felt gracious enough to pay $3,000 per book they used in training. Imagine I ransacked your home and then graciously offered to pay you an amount I thought was fair.

I think the bigger drivers behind Anti-AI is: the novelty has worn off, the upper class is shoving it into everything from the fast food intercom at a drive through to everything on the phone and OS, AI is drastically raising energy prices even without turning on a switch as power companies plan for increased need for capacity, AI has made computer parts expensive, AI is visibly making the dead internet theory a reality, and while there is more reasons left the big underlining issue is there is very little tangible benefit.

Also accepting AI requires being alright with the upper class stealing the bulk of the species intellectual property after decades of “Don’t steal music” and all those “FBI warnings” about copying movies. Further insult is the audacity to want money for rehashing what they stole.
