I recently moved and there’s a ham club (mmmmm ham club) in town that I want to check out.

They’re having a field day that I plan on attending and meeting the locals.

On Lemmy I’m still finding my way. I clicked on the local feed and found your post, but I’m not sure how to make it this default.

you can set the default home view to “Local” in settings on web. I also use Voyager and it has a setting for Default Feed as well. You have to set that view on each app you use, it’s not account specific.

• Subscribed shows all of your subscriptions
• Local are all the posts local to our instance
• All are all the posts that everyone on our instance subscribe to

I will say that the settings, at least on web, leave something to be desired. They can be a bit confusing. I’ve thought about adding different web interfaces, but i’m ok with the default so far.
