Weddings and such. I like a relaxed and casual atmosphere and feel out of place at formal and performative events.
Romance novels and films: I find them dull.
I actually love personal styling like hair, makeup, nails, and jewelry but I do these things infrequently and by myself because I can’t be arsed with the time and maintenance costs that go into getting them done professionally, and they usually get in the way of the things I do daily.
When I wrote the comment, I meant that I wouldn’t want to have a wedding, at least nothing resembling a traditional one, and then halfway through I realized that I’m not a big fan of attending formal events either.
If the love is there, I don’t need a spectacle, rings, vows, and a dress I’ll only wear once to show that.
Yeah same. I seem to have little tolerance for romance as a genre. All the tropes and common plot lines, and relying on it for the central plot just aren’t engaging to me. Plus so much of that media glamorizes abuse, and harmful or problematic relationship dynamics. That’s not my idea of fantasy. I would rather read a reference guide to ferns.

It sounds helpful you have a clear idea of how you’d want yours to be. It saves stress and the logistics headache down the line.
