After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue.

    I understand their reasoning. There is a (good) argument to be made that orgs like this should stay on Twitter if only to remind people to delete Twitter (I believe Cory Doctorow does this with his account). It seems like they thought this through.

    It costs nothing to post on X, and Musk has done more for user rights than Twitter ever did - in fact Twitter actively suppressed user rights at a massive scale, and was basically a government propaganda tool. The EFFs statement reads like the usual anti-musk far left virtue signalling. There’s literally zero reason to stop posting on X if their goals are what they say they are.

      Congratulations. You’re one of today’s lucky ten thousand. :)

      but 0 points for being 10 years late on this very easy and obvious decision.

      Once you learn about what the EFF does, and read the post, you’ll (hopefully) understand that this decision was neither easy nor obvious.
