I’m MUCH more motivated by helping solve problems for others than for myself. My existence in a world run by self-centered control freak assholes too short-sighted to see the value in other approaches to life has made for an incredibly miserable waste of potential and purpose out of my so-called “life.”
There’s a wobbly push bar on the door of a restaurant I frequent, and every time I walk in and touch it, I consider going out to my car and getting my toolbox and fixing it. The only reason I don’t is that I’m pretty sure they would yell at me to stop as soon as I started.
Why not ask them? They might appreciate the offer, but doing it without consent could be an issue for them.
I’m experiencing a major Baader-Meinhof phenomenon on Deleuze and Guattari. This is the second meme on Lemmy, but the funny thing is that for me it started when I referenced them in a review of a troll April 1st wad on Doomworld…

There is a man from the Oakland area that does this type of stuff in his free time. He’ll go around to various sites people have dumped their garbage and clean it up.
When it rains he out there unclogging drains.

My brain is broken to teach adults about science and technology… Something most people would absolutely hate doing with their time even paid, I do with my free time.
It’s also broken to set up systems for multi-crop farming, efficient resource use, stuff like that in relation to food. But I don’t have access to land so can’t use most of what I know to any productive ends.
