basicSync app size 28mb
syncthing-fork app size 165mbAs far as I know that’s because the “universal” binary is shipped with multiple platforms supported.
Little bit more on it here:
Minimal wrapper for Syncthing on Android. Unlike Syncthing-Fork, it does not use Android’s Storage Access Framework to avoid performance degradation. The intention behind this project can be found here. This one needs more vetting from the community to determinate if the developer is trustworthy.
The dev has some chops. Multiple projects with lots of activity over years. I realize his pseudonym makes people nervous, but his name appears to be Andrew. 😂
Looks great, I’m glad to have an alternative after the syncthing-fork debacle.
It also seems this one only worries about running Syncthing and lets all configuration be done via the Web UI. Pretty smart choice IMO.deleted by creator
You can import/export the configuration between these apps.
import/export put basicSync in a reboot loop. twice.
I had to clean the storage and reconfigure from scratchThat’s unlucky. It worked for me on first try.
