I think my days of donating are over. I’ve been denied repeatedly for being lgbt recently despite it never being a problem before, so 🤷‍♀️

Ok, I can spare 30 minutes. To be honest, I was due months ago, but it’s so easy to be bogged down in the day-to-day and not get around to it.

It honestly only takes about half an hour, and you can book it on your phone and just walk in.

I really want to donate again but the last time she managed to hit a nerve that ached for almost 2 years. The thought of donating again gives me a mini form of PTSD. It’s like I can still feel the needle inserted.

They hit my bone once ~ I felt the needle hitting something hard. Pretty sure you’re not meant to go that deep lol

Boomers were the last generation that got the full PSA treatment on blood donation. More and more of them are dying or not healthy enough to continue donating, and quite frankly no one seems interested in getting young people to step up.

That’s no longer a deal-breaker. They ask if you’ve had multiple partners in the last 3 months, or taking prep treatment.

Even then, I’m not sure that would stop you (not sure what the policy is), that’s simply what they ask.

It’s probably worth calling and asking if you do want to donate.

I wish I didn’t have long covid or I would give blood very often. It’s legitimately the most direct and least expensive way to save people’s lives

I would if I could (I have incurable blood cancer and not allowed to donate blood products or organs). I will always be so grateful to those people who choose to donate and help others. Your donation really can save lives.

I tried twice last year. They knocked me back both times. Apparently being dehydrated caused my veins to be hard to see. Fucking annoying when I wasn’t dehydrated. Just fat.

The pathologist managed to take blood for sampling. But the blood donor centre didn’t even bother trying.
