I live outside of a mid-sized Midwest city and if you go far enough into rural areas, you will encounter Amish and Mennonite communities.
On at least 3 separate occasions, in 3 geographically separated parts of the state, I’ve seen signs written on orange poster board, signs for “Yoder’s websites” and a phone number.
Amish communities are very industrious, and there are many factories out there. Like the church controls things, but the businesses are private family owned. The people who own the factories, they use mostly modern production methods, and are adept at shipping, receivables, all the trappings of a modern business. Except when Amish people arent at work, they are either at home or they take their little horse-drawn buggy to church/community get together.
The Amish have no interest in computers and may not even be technically allowed them. But a business needs a website. And in comes Yoder, a common Amish/Mennonite name, with WordPress skills, a sheet of poster board, a black marker, a staple gun, and a tall fuckin ladder. And sure enough if you check out some of these Amish furniture builder websites, you might see Yoder’s name in the footer
