Cats are ambush predators more than chase predators. So rather than acting scared, act oblivious. Look away, turn your back, walk around the corner out of sight, take a rest under vantage points they can access.

I am scared. Kitten claws are the sharpest instruments known. I have the tiny holes in me to prove it.

Is that Firepaw and Bramblepaw on their first hunt??

Anyone else read the Warriors books as kids?

I still read them well into my 30s. Also Fireheart (formerly your aforementioned Firepaw) was Bramblepaw’s mentor. Apologies if that wasn’t actually a mistake and was just an observation on the appearance of the kittens pictured, which as I’m typing this might’ve been the case

Ahhh no you’re totally right. I was kinda just going off of their colors, but I did think Firestar and Brambleclaw were the same age and forgot Firestar was his mentor. I aughta pick up those books again! I remember getting the first book of that polar bear series by the same author and didn’t really dig it

I never read Seekers. I gave Bravelands a try but I didn’t even finish the first book. Same with the dog one, whose name escapes me atm. Just couldn’t get into it.

Ummm, I’m a dragon? It’s kinda difficult to pretend to be scared. Also screaming and fleeing in terror is often mistaken for roaring and flying off in a rage.

I have that parasite, I’m incapable of fear around them. I will walk towards them slowly while showing my hand
